How does the Coding Kickstarter application process and waitlist work?

We're so excited that you're getting ready to start your coding journey with CFG! Here are some common troubleshooting points and recurring Q&As for students who are preparing to take our Coding Kickstarter classes.

Am I eligible for your classes?
Can I apply to more than one class at a time?
Do I need any tech background to take your classes?

Am I eligible for your classes? 

The criteria to be eligible for our classes are that you need to identify as a woman or a non-binary individual over the age of 18. 

Can I apply to more than one class at a time? 

We ask that potential students only apply to one Kickstarter course at a time. This allows us to get back to you much faster, and also ensure that students don’t end up with multiple spaces assigned to them unnecessarily.

Do I need any tech background to take your classes?

No, our MOOCs and Kickstarter classes are for complete beginners. For JavaScript, we recommend taking our Web Development classes first. The CFGDegree is aimed at students who have taken our Kickstarter classes

I've applied but haven't heard back, have I been added to a waiting list?

If you have not heard back within 7 working days, you have been automatically added to a waiting list. We have a large number of applicants and only around 40-45 places per class. For each class, we can receive up to 3X times as many applications per place! If you are not accepted onto the course you initially applied for, we will place you on an alternative course within 6 months of your application. Each eligible student will be given a space, so there is no need to re-apply. If you are on the waiting list and a student drops out, you will be offered a place which is reserved for a set amount of time. You can then register to confirm your space in the classes.
