What is Interview Coaching?

At Code First Girls, Interview Coaching is a group-led programme designed to give you direct, actionable support and dedicated practice time so you can walk into your company interview feeling prepared and confident. Our goal is to equip you with the essential interview skills and mindset needed to secure your next role in tech!

We offer Interview Coaching to CFGdegree or Mid-Level Accelerator (MLA) candidates preparing for company interviews, and candidates in our Consultant Placement pool.

Your Interview Coaching journey:

1. Invitation: You will receive an email invitation to sign up for a coaching session.
2. Prep Work: Before your session, you will complete interactive Prep Work.
3. Live Coaching Session: You will attend a live session to practice with a coach.
4. Company Interview: You step into your company interview confident, prepared, and ready to succeed!

What is Prep Work?

Prep Work is a dedicated resource carefully designed by CFG to prepare you for your upcoming interviews. It guides you through the entire interview preparation process using informative videos, practice exercises, and answer frameworks.

Depending on the specific course or pathway you have applied to, your Prep Work includes essential resources such as:

• Framework templates
• Practice interview questions
• A technical question guide

We strongly encourage you to complete your Prep Work before attending your live coaching session. Working through these materials in advance allows you to practice your answers, sharpen your skills, and get the absolute most out of your live CFG coaching session!

How do I access my Prep Work?

To access your Prep Work, you will need a password. You can find this password in the original email invitation sent to you for your coaching session.

How should I prepare for my Interview Coaching session?

To get the most out of your live coaching session, a little preparation goes a long way! Please ensure you have the following ready before you join:

• Camera and Microphone: Make sure your webcam and microphone are working so you can participate actively.
• Your Prep Work: Keep your completed Prep Work open on your screen, downloaded, or printed out. The small-group practice during the session focuses on the exact same questions from your Prep Work! We highly recommend completing the work ahead of time so you’re fully prepared for the session.
• Pen and Paper: Keep something handy to jot down live feedback, tips, and key insights from your coach and peers.

What if I can’t attend my live Interview Coaching session?

While we highly recommend attending the live coaching session to give yourself the best possible chance of success, we understand that this is not always possible.

If you are unable to make your live session, you can still prepare effectively by following these steps:

1. Complete the Prep Work: Carefully work through all the preparation materials on your own before your actual company interview to help structure your responses.
2. Review the Coaching Slides: The day after your scheduled coaching session, check your inbox for an email containing the exact slides used by our coaches. Take some time to read through these thoroughly.
3. Read the CFG Interview Sheet: Review the Interview Sheet sent by the CFG team, which is packed with extra tips and additional guidance.
